What is Afripedia Art?

Afripedia Art is an online platform by Afripedia that aims to make art more inclusive and broaden the spectrum of availability while transforming the perception of African creativity. By curating a diverse collection of prints, Afripedia Art wants to provide access to African contemporary art and showcase emerging artists alongside established artists. This can allow people from around the world to view, appreciate and purchase the artworks, even if they cannot attend physical exhibitions.

Afripedia Art is based in Stockholm, Sweden.

Where are Afripedia Art prints shipped from?

We ship worldwide and work closely with a global print-on-demand company with 200+ production hubs in 32 countries. Better for the people - and the planet. Orders are shipped from print labs in Sweden,  Europe, South Africa, Australia, United States , South America, and Asia.

 

What type of paper is used for the prints?

We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional quality. Our prints are created on archival museum-quality matte paper, weighing 250 gsm/110lb. This uncoated, natural white (off-white) paper not only ensures the longevity of your artwork but also provides a visually stunning backdrop for your favorite pieces. How much does shipping cost?

For our launch, we're delighted to provide free worldwide shipping to all our valued customers until the end of November 2023.

Can I track my order ?

All order are sent tracked and you’ll receive tracking info via email once dispatched

The item I received is faulty/damaged

As part of our Afripedia Promise, if an order gets damaged in transit, then we’ll reprint and replace your order free of charge. Read out returns policy here

What is the story behind Afripedia?

Afripedia is a collaborative multimedia platform that aims to showcase and promote contemporary African culture and creativity. It features documentaries, short films, music videos, art, fashion, and photography from various African countries and the diaspora. 

Afripedia was launched in 2014 and is a project of the Swedish production company Stocktown Films. Its goal is to challenge the stereotypical and narrow perceptions of African culture and to provide a platform for African artists and creatives to showcase their work on a global stage. Through its documentaries and other content, Afripedia has explored a wide range of topics and has become a valuable resource for anyone interested in African culture and creativity. Its content is freely accessible on its website and on various social media platforms.

Why is Afripedia necessary? 

Afripedia is born out of a genuine passion to expand the opportunities for African creatives who are often overlooked and ultimately drive change across the creative industry.

What is the difference between Afripedia and Afripedia Art?

Afripedia Art is one of Afripedia's various projects. All of our efforts strive to create a more inclusive creative industry.
